Stephanie Aitken
Stephanie, an associate with our firm, graduated with a Bachelor of Laws and a Bachelor of Arts (Political Science/Maori Indigenous Studies) from the University of Canterbury in 2010. Stephanie has worked in law firms in Christchurch and Ashburton, and began working at Joynt Andrews in 2012. Her main areas of practice are currently Care of Children, Protection Orders, relationship property agreements and proceedings, Employment Law, and Adoption.

pHILIP mCdONNELL
Following an extensive career with New Zealand Police, Philip graduated from the University of Canterbury with a Bachelor of Laws in 2014. As a Police Prosecutor, Philip appeared before the District Court in numerous list matters, bail hearings , sentencing hearings, and defended hearings. Philip is a senior solicitor with extensive expertise with criminal clients in general criminal, traffic and limited licences. In addition Philip is experienced in Care of Children, Protection Orders, Employment, Civil and Relationship Property matters.

SAMANTHA LAWRENCE
Samantha is a senior solicitor who works in our Commercial and Property team.
Samantha has extensive experience acting for landowners, developers and financing parties in all aspects of commercial leasing, investment, site assembly and development of both residential and commercial property. In addition, Samantha has carved out a niche practice at Joynt Andrews in the resolution of building disputes, as well as preparation and advice on terms of trade and building contracts. Samantha also shares a supervisory role in respect of our small business, residential property transactions and estate and elder law matters.
Samantha has since 1991 worked in Brisbane in Australia, and since 1996 in highly regarded real estate teams in London and Cambridge in the UK, and since moving to Christchurch with her family in 2006 has taught Property and Commercial Law and Practice for the College of Law.
Samantha enjoys identifying resolutions for problems faced by our diverse client base, and working as part of a close knit team within a well-established boutique firm, as well as the “Christchurch experience” of walking round the corner to work at our Joynt Andrews premises.

JIM DAWSON
Jim was a partner at Joynt Andrews for well over 50 years and now works as a Consultant. Being admitted to the Bar in 1961, Jim brings his extensive expertise primarily to Estate Administration, and all aspects of Residential and Commercial Conveyancing.
